Participants will be encouraged to get creative with non-traditional materials and methods. This workshop is perfect for anyone who enjoys experimenting with collage and texture-based work.
About the Instructor
Loree Ovens (she/her) works in a variety of media, including printmaking where she creates works on paper that are reminiscent of old documents or aged textiles. She specializes in intaglio techniques; especially etching, aquatint, drypoint and collagraph. Primarily working with Japanese Washi and often combining the use of surface design techniques for textiles, Loree’s fascination with line, pattern, and architecture continues to inspire her work.
Loree has shown in national and international exhibitions in Canada, Japan, United States, Taiwan, Australia and Scotland. Her work is part of both private and public collections including the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada, National Bank, Art Gallery of New South Wales, SGC International and Richardson Wealth.
Loree’s work can be found at Open Studio, Craft Ontario, Guildworks and Propeller Art Gallery.
