The art of collaging is about putting together different images and mediums onto paper into a juxtaposition. We will be using scissors and/or exacto knives for cutting out our images, as well as glue and decoupage. Our goal will be to create a collage onto cards that we can share with someone ?
Lead by: Irma Garcia, “@silksauce”, a Sacramento native. with a wide range of talents, from boxing, dancing, writing poetry & making all kinds of art! Music & culture have a great influence in my artistic expression.
A proud first generation Mexican American, she has a background in early childhood education and social science.
As a teacher, artist & mother Irma promotes the idea that everyone is an artist and love's the quote by Pablo Picasso, “Every child is an artist. The problem is to remain an artist once they grow up”.
"I feel that as we become adults, our idea of an “artist” becomes skewed by society’s standards of what “art” is supposed to be or look like.
Collaging is a free form method, so let’s have some fun ?
