Collage for Everyone

Explore the wonderful world of mixed-media collage - no need to have any experience! Collaging is a playful outlet in which we will use magazines, newspapers, fabric, and paint to assemble whatever we are inspired to create. You are encouraged to bring materials, but we will also have things to share, including scissors. In this multi-session workshop, you can choose to make larger pieces over the course of the classes, or multiple smaller things. Guidance will be available for both art and postcard templates.

This class is suitable for all ages - it'd be a great intergenerational art activity!

This is a 4-part class taking place on Mondays from 3-5pm on 4/22, 4/29, 5/6 and 5/13.

This class is taught by Alchemy artist-in-resdience Andy Thomas. Andy is a photographer and video/sound artist living in New Orleans. Our class offerings taught by artists-in-residence are developed by the visiting artists and are informed by their artistic practice. This is the only time this class will be offered at Alchemy!

This class is held in the dome on the AAC campus. Directions and parking information will be included in your confirmation email.

Registration: Please register early if you are able, as it helps us to assure that classes meet their minimums in order to run! If you register more than three weeks before this class begins, a 20% early bird discount will automatically be applied to your ticket at checkout.

A Note on Ticket Pricing: We are experimenting with offering sliding scale tickets in order to keep our classes accessible to as many community members as possible. There are three price tiers. Sustaining tickets help us continue to invest in programming. Full price tickets cover the costs associated with running classes. Accessibility tickets are priced below what it costs for us to run a class. If the cost of a full price ticket is a hardship, we encourage you to purchase a sliding scale ticket. If you can pay the full price or sustaining price, please choose that option so we can keep providing arts programming to the community.
