The Cincinnati Books Arts Society presents a Collaborative Cyanotype Workshop on September 6 at Essex Studios. Come and explore with us the possibilities of CYANOTYPE in this exciting workshop. A Cyanotype is a photographic printing process that produces a beautiful cyan-blue print. It's one of the oldest photographic methods invented in 1842 by Sir John Herschel. The process involves using a light sensitive solution of iron salts, which react to ultraviolet light, to create images on paper, fabric and other items.
Thanks to Sharon Naderman, we will have 5 indoor stations to expose the pretreated photographic papers as well as hopefully the sun. This will be a general overview for beginners and a sharing of techniques from Sharon, Maxine Apke, Cy McQuigg, Margaret Rhein at our CBAS studio. Sharon has also put together an amazing kit for each participant to use in the workshop and to take home.
