Collaborating to Accelerate the Delivery of Ultra-low Energy Homes

Following the success of our first event which shared perspectives on strategies to reduce embodied carbon, SGP will be hosting the East Midlands Sustainability Partnership (EMSP), once again. Returning speaker Doug Johnson from building performance specialists Mesh, will be joined by Dr Anthony Greer, Founding Director of TALO, who together, will share their insights on the importance of collaboration to accelerate the delivery of ultra-low energy homes.

TALO is bringing proven Nordic offsite manufacturing technology to the UK to redefine housebuilding and with the wider aim of eradicating fuel poverty.

Central to this mission is to integrate TALO’s highly thermally efficient timber superstructure solutions with a whole house energy strategy – a holistic approach to reduce or eliminate energy bills for low rise housing.

Mesh has formed a strong partnership with TALO to support its solutions, projects and developers with building performance analysis and assessments. This is a highly successful collaboration, reminding us that people with a shared vision and passion are central to raising standards if we are to accelerate climate action, decarbonisation and build more ultra-low energy homes for everyone.

A key part of TALO’s mission is to share lessons learned and to implement practices from building new homes in the harsh climates of Finland and Norway for the past 30 years. This insight and technology have enabled TALO to reinvent how new homes are built in the UK to achieve better quality and to exceed Passivhaus standards and the new Future Homes Standard at no cost premium – a concurrent vision shared by Doug. Together these industry leaders are challenging traditional methodologies to lead us towards a climate positive future.
