Idaho’s first openly LGBTQ+ lawmaker Cole Nicole LeFavour is joining us on Sunday, October 4th at 3:00 PM at our Colfax location to share about their empowering autobiography, In the Arms of Mountains: A Memoir of Land, Love, and Queer Resistance in Red America!

This event includes an opportunity to meet the author, participate in an audience Q&A after the presentation, and get your book signed and personalized. Photos with the author are welcome!

We will have a limited supply of additional books for guests to purchase in store. Only a book ticket guarantees you a copy of the book.

If you are unable to attend the event after purchasing a ticket, you are required to pick up your copy of the book (with proof of purchase from your event registration) within 7 days after the event date. If the book is not picked up by that date, you relinquish your copy to Tattered Cover Book Store.

Cole LeFavour was 11 years old when their hippie parents moved the family to a guest ranch in Idaho. Hours to the north, as the LeFavours unpacked pots and pans, Richard Butler dreamed of establishing a white separatist nation. It’s here, in one of the reddest states on the map, where Cole learned to raise ducklings, hike the wilderness alone, and build political resistance where you'd least expect it.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Cole Nicole LeFavour is an activist, an award-winning journalist, and a writer whose stories and essays have appeared in The North American Review, Idaho Wilderness Considered, Confluence, Sawtooth-White Cloud, among others. In 2004, LeFavour became the first opening LGBTQ+ member of the Idaho Legislature, serving as an Idaho State Senator for 8 years and leading multiple acts of civil disobedience at the State Capitol.
