CCHRC is offering a Fairbanks-based owner-builder class for individuals and couples who want to know the best practices of building for our extreme weather and harsh climate. From Oct. 12 to November 23, 2024, join local builder Brannon Richart and local subject matter experts. You will learn everything about the owner-builder process of building a home within the Fairbanks North Star Borough, from how to assess, buy, plan and permit land, site work and utilities, framing and interior systems and how to make it all look oh so nice.
This class offers the opportunity to work one-on-one with a reputable local builder who has seen it all and knows who to call. Participants will complete the master class with a working budget for their own project and after successful completion, qualify for loan rate reductions from local banks, discounts at local retailers and community connections to lean on during your building process.
Space is limited to the first 12 individuals or couples. We want to keep this small and engaging, with plenty of time for interaction. Cost for the course is $1500 per individual or $2000 per couple working on the same project and includes:
