Cold is an American rock band from Jacksonville, Florida, formed in 1996. The band was founded by singer and guitarist Scooter Ward, accompanied in the beginning by musicians such as Sam McCandless (drums) and Jeremy Marshall (bass). Cold is often associated with the nu metal movement at the beginning of their career, but they also incorporate elements of alternative rock and post-grunge.
Their self-titled first album "Cold" was released in 1998, but it was with their second album "13 Ways to Bleed on Stage", released in 2000, that they began to gain popularity, thanks to songs like "Just Got Wicked" and "No One". The third album, "Year of the Spider", released in 2003, reached the top of the charts, notably with the single "Stupid Girl".
The band has had several interruptions over the years and has had several changes in members. After a pause between 2006 and 2009, they reformed and released the album "Superfiction" in 2011. Cold continues to be active and perform, despite changes in line-up and challenges in the music industry. They are known for their introspective and emotionally charged lyrics, as well as for their distinctive sound.
