Raised in the Petri dish of fundamentalist belief, marinating in guilt and shame and the ever present threat of doomsday our cult poet was once a kid, cut into tiny pieces. Separated entirely from himself and living on a lifeboat. A family caught in the farty fumes of a long dead snake oil salesman living a sheltered life of routines, rituals, rights and indoctrination. Gaslit by cherry picked bible verses and squashed into photocopied versions of themselves. The cult poet started his escape with jokes and nonsense, penned poetry and verse, daisy chains, crumbs, search parties back to himself . This is the cult kid and me, the ultimate villain origin story, the poet beefing with god and society. The poets journey from the confines of cultish mind control to freedom and a reunion with his true self.
