Alice Mae, Alexia's stage name, grew up stealing her parents' CDs to immerse herself in the world of classic alternative rock. Inspired by legendary bands like Oasis, The Rolling Stones and U2, she vowed herself to one day make authentic, no-nonsense rock music - with a distinctly female voice in a predominantly male scene.
Today, at 25, she completely fulfils that promise. Her style is casual, her voice raw and lived-in. Alice Mae effortlessly touches a sensitive chord: her vocals are sincere, her lyrics honest and compelling. She writes to organise her messy mind, to shape her thoughts, hoping that one day they will reach a meaningful point.
