Description

Join Nicole Harrington, Ph.D. for this full day of training designed to teach clinicians the early phase of an evidence-based, structured intervention to use with clients following episodes of suicidal behaviors. CBT-SP is a straightforward and state-of-the art model to use when your clients have experienced suicidality. You will leave this training with resources and specific strategies for responding to clients' suicidal thoughts and behaviors and with confidence, while preserving your therapeutic relationships.

Objectives

After attending the presentation, attendees will:

  1. Recognize the rationale for utilizing an evidence-based approach for the treatment of suicidal behaviors.
  2. Conduct a narrative assessment with recently suicidal patients.
  3. Map a suicide mode diagram with their patient.
  4. Use the suicide mode diagram to develop a crisis response plan.
  5. Use motivational interviewing to develop a means safety agreement with the patient.

CEs Available

Applications for CEs seven (7) hours have been submitted for Social Work, LMHC, LADC, Nursing, and Psychology. There is no fee for CEs

**Please Note: This is an in-person training. Participants must attend all 7 hours of training to be awarded CEs.


APA Credit Designation Statement: The Brien Center is approved by the American Psychological Association to offer continuing education credits for psychologists. The Brien Center maintains responsibility for the program. This program will offer seven (7) credits for psychologists.
