About this Event
Since 1970, the rate in which Black and Brown patients have been diagnosed with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) has increased by 135%. That’s 3x higher than White patients (39%) making it critical to spread awareness about signs and symptoms.
If diagnosed early, it potentially lowers the risk of managing IBD in a more severe state!
As patients, walking can provide health benefits like reduced inflammation and improved physical and mental health. Especially for patients in lower to moderate states of IBD.
So we walk! Join us on Nov. 30th at 11:30am CT.
The Dallas, TX walk will be led by Victoria Tyler.
With the constant shifts of society right now, we need community more than ever. Whether managing a digestive disorder or not, access to ostomy supplies are critical to improving one's quality of life! If you're local to Dallas and in need of ostomy supply assistance, we're spotlighting .
- If you'd like to donate ostomyitems, you can bring them to the 5k walk and our city lead will drop off donations on behalf of the COGI 5k Walk.
Note: Attendees will be notified if the location changes due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
