Austin artis Via Boley is a powerful emerging voice whose work commands attention through bold materiality and psychological depth. Employing reflective surfaces, fragmented figures, and vibrant palettes, Boley interrogates the dynamics of power, perception, and objectification.

More than a simple pairing, the exhibition ‘between us’ brings together Ditte Sørensen and Via Boley in their own moment. Boley is at the cusp of her rise: a recent Frick Arts Foundation award recipient, her figures and objects in her work appear displaced, and abstracted — caught between visibility and distortion.

'between us' is a dialogue about how women are perceived and how materials disrupt that perception.

Boley states: 'I’m inspired by how mirror-like surfaces can convey emotion rather than a superficial image. My work isn’t about reflection as appearance, but as a way to create spaces that feel surreal, familiar, and moving.'
