COFFEE WITH A CURATOR Slice of Life: Impression at The FIA
Oct 14 | 10:30a | Isabel Hall | FREE Admission
Director and Curator of Collections and Exhibitions Sarah Kohn, Guest Lecturer
In honor of visiting artwork The Sheltered Path by Claude Monet, Director and Curator of Collections and Exhibitions Sarah Kohn will discuss a revolutionary group of 19th-century artists known as the Impressionists. While they were often criticized for the unfinished, sketchlike appearance of their art, these artists were striving to capture the essence of modernity. This talk will explore artworks in the FIA’s collection and The Sheltered Path and how Impressionists offered viewers a “slice of life.”
