Coffee Morning: Kilburn in Pictures and Stories
About this Event
Join us at the Kilburn Library for an illustrated journey through the history of Kilburn and Queen’s Park, uncovering the stories behind familiar streets and landmarks. From ancient Watling Street and the medieval Kilburn Priory to Georgian pleasure seekers, Victorian railways, music halls, the vibrant Irish community and today’s changing neighbourhood, Kilburn has a remarkably colourful past. Using historic maps, archive photographs and modern images, this talk brings local history to life and reveals the people, places and everyday stories that have shaped Kilburn and Queen’s Park into the communities we know today.
Presented by Irina Porter, London Blue Badge Guide, Chair and Journal editor, Willesden Local History Society.
Part of the The National Year of Reading 2026 which is a UK-wide campaign designed to inspire more people to make reading a regular part of their lives.
