Who is Birch Bark?
At Birch Bark Coffee Company, we are dedicated to blending tradition
with sustainability. Our mission is to provide exceptional, ethically-sourced coffee while honouring the rich heritage of the First Nations culture. We believe in the power of coffee to foster unity and drive positive change. We are committed to uplifting Indigenous communities by addressing systemic and intergenerational challenges through sustainable business practices, development, and education.
We envision a world where Indigenous communities thrive with access to essential resources, especially clean water, quality education, and safety from systemic injustices.
Established in March 2018, Birch Bark is a First Nations-owned and operated business, serving only the best Fair Trade & Organic coffees.
We recognize the need for an Indigenous inclusion continuum that extends globally, beginning with the Indigenous women and men farmers producing Birch Bark coffee beans to the customers supporting our cause-driven movement to the Indigenous families across Canada impacted by poor water conditions.
Here at the Birch Bark Coffee Company, we believe that an on-going process of choice instills, not just a collective self-determination, but also an individual self-determination and nurtures a journey for people to determine their own economic, social and cultural improvement and at the same time ensuring our beans are ethically sourced.

What is cupping?
Coffee cupping is an engaging sensory experience where coffee enthusiasts explore and evaluate the intricate flavours and aromas of coffee beans. Similar to wine tasting, participants sample various coffees, slurping and aerating to discern nuances. They evaluate elements like acidity, body, sweetness, and aftertaste, grading beans based on their unique characteristics. Cupping isn't just about savouring coffee; it's a methodical approach to understanding its origins, quality, and the art of brewing. It's a fascinating journey that unveils the diverse and rich world of coffee.
This event is suitable for all-levels.
