Starting or Strengthening Your Planned Giving ProgramPlanned giving is one of the most powerful ways to build long-term sustainability for your organization. In this first Coffee and Coaching session, we will walk through the essential building blocks of a successful planned giving program, from leadership alignment to donor identification and simple, effective marketing. Participants will learn how to have meaningful, values-centered conversations that inspire donors to consider a legacy gift, and how to fold legacy messages naturally into ongoing communications. This session is designed to give you practical tools you can use immediately, whether you are starting from scratch or refreshing an existing program.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
1) Outline the core components of a foundational planned giving program including leadership commitment, a basic gift acceptance policy, donor identification, and simple marketing strategies.�
2) Engage donors in natural, values-based conversations that focus on impact, use open-ended questions, and normalize legacy giving in everyday stewardship.�
3)Implement early action steps such as launching a Legacy Society, updating communication channels with legacy messaging, and tracking commitments in a way that strengthens long-term donor relationships.
