Readers & book lovers are invited to this “bring your own book” club hosted at local coffee shops! The goal of this “silent book club” is to create a community space where there is no assigned book you may not personally enjoy, to be able to just show up, spend time with friends or make new book-ish friends, and most importantly, to set aside intentional time with your current book/e-reader/audiobook with no pressure, sharing only if you want to! Join readers in the back room at Ugly Mugs Coffee in Cedar Grove for an hour of optional socialization followed by an hour of quiet reading paired with your favorite café drink or treat. Book club meetings are free to attend and open to anyone, but buying something to support these coffee shops is highly encouraged so readers are not simply taking up a paying customer’s space. These meetings are geared for adults, providing a designated time away from the house simply to read. Space may be limited so seating is first come first serve. Optionally, bring a book to exchange or find your next read in the ever-changing group Little Free Library at each meeting!
