About this Event
Coffee and Conversations
Come grab a cup of morning coffee or tea and join us for an exciting presentation and panel discussion hosted at the Charlotte Urban Design Center. First in a series of conversations bringing together urban design professionals, the topic will be “Design with Place in Mind”, focused on place-informed adaptive reuse projects in Charlotte. There will be a coffee cart set up in the plaza serving an assortment of espresso beverages along with chai free of charge from mobile espresso bar, Open View Coffee, with pastries as well!
There will be a short presentation on the topic, followed by a facilitated panel discussion and audience Q+A. Panelists Kevin Kennedy, AIA, Founding Partner of Cluck Design, and Paul Pennell, PLA, Partner at Urban Design Partners, will speak to their experience in adaptive reuse projects, preserving historic properties while working in the context of a rapidly developing Charlotte.
The Studio is located at 1507 Camden Rd in the heart of South End. We encourage you to walk, bike, or take the light rail as we are steps away from the Bland Street Light Rail Station. There is two-hour paid parking on Camden Road and other adjacent streets. There is also free street parking on S. Church Street, Key Court, and Rensselaer Avenue. Check out the South End parking map for more information.
