Temazcal the Sacred Sweat LodgeTemazcal is a place to cleanse and purify the mind, body, and soul. This is a safe place for us to connect with Great Spirit and root ourselves within the earth. Grandmother willow represents the womb of mother earth as she bends to provide us a space for healing. As we are held in the womb we have the opportunity to be rebirthed into the world. Willow reminds us to adapt, be flexible, and flow through the changes in our life. We call upon the fire, the light of the world, to heat the stones and welcome the energy of our ancestors and their teachings. We enter the lodge with an open mind and open heart, acknowledging and honoring all beings, and humbling ourselves with gratitude. Within the lodge we begin to weave with one another, connecting our hearts and souls as we journey and set intentions of healing. As we allow the toxins to be removed from our body, mind, and soul we make room for the unconditional love and light to enter.
Please drink plenty of water a few days before hand and attend the sacred space sober. Please bring a contribution of $10, a towel, a swimsuit, sarong or whatever you feel comfortable wearing, and a small snack to share afterwards.
