About this Event
The Cocoa Christmas Crawl is Oakland’s biggest, Blackest holiday celebration — a full day of connection, community, and pure joy. Now in our 4th year, we’re back with an unforgettable evening of holiday vibes, live music, and celebration across Oakland’s best bars and small businesses.
🎄 Saturday, December 13
✨ Crawl: 5 PM – 10pm
🎶 After-Party: 10 PM – 1 AM (location announced soon!)
This year’s Crawl benefits , an Oakland nonprofit uplifting single mothers and families through workforce training, community retail, and wraparound services. Your ticket helps sustain their incredible work right here in the Town.
How the Crawl Works
- Choose one of our 4 themed crawl routes — or go General Admission and create your own self-guided adventure.
- Crawl with your group from 5–10 PM, exploring a curated list of bars, restaurants, and local gems offering exclusive Cocoa Crawl drink specials, bites, and photo ops.
- All routes end together at the After-Party (10 PM–1 AM) — with live music, a DJ, and more holiday vibes.
- All tickets are the same price and include entry to the After-Party.
- You must choose your Crawl Group when you buy your ticket. The only way to guarantee your friends are in the same group is to buy together. Coordinate and don’t play yourself.
- Prices will increase as we get closer to the event — early birds get the deals!
Your Week of Cocoa Events
Make it a full week of joy and community:
🧵 Sewing Workshop by Urban University [12/6] – learn, create, and connect.
🎨 [12/7] – unwind, sip, and create in good company.
💃🏾 [12/10] – taught by Sharifa, a Grenadian native.

Choose Your Crawl Route
🕯️ Mistletoe & Chill
Low-key festive. High-key good energy. For the ones who came to sip, laugh, and actually hear each other talk. Smooth playlists, soft lighting, and all the cozy vibes without the chaos. Great for singles.
✨ The Vibe Check
For the crew that treats ambiance like a love language — moody lighting, signature drinks, and fits too cute to waste on a regular night out.
🎉 Sleigh All Night
For the life-of-the-party types who know every DJ, every dance move, and everyone in the room by last call. Loud, festive, and just the right amount of chaos.
🌍 It’s Giving Cultured
For the ones who travel through taste. Expect global bites, bold cocktails, and music that moves through continents — all with that Oakland flavor.
🧭 General Admission (Self-Guided)
Choose your own adventure! Access all participating venues at your own pace, solo or with your crew.
🍾 After-Party (10 PM–1 AM)
All groups end the night together for one big celebration featuring:
- Live performances + DJ sets to keep the vibes high
- Dance floor, photo ops, and the full Cocoa family closing out the night
(Location announced soon — ticket holders will be notified via email.)
A Note to Our Non-Black Friends & Allies
Cocoa Christmas Crawl was created as a joyful space to center and celebrate Black culture, community, and creativity in Oakland. We love and welcome the full diversity of our city — our allies, our neighbors, our friends. This space is for everyone committed to showing up in love, respect, and joy.
If you’re not Black, here’s how you can be part of the energy in the right way:
🤎 Celebrate, don’t center. Dance, vibe, and enjoy the space — but let the culture lead.
🤎 Support with intention. Spend with our Black-owned vendors and businesses.
🤎 Be self-aware. Know when to listen, when to step back, and when to uplift others.
We’re building a holiday experience grounded in love and liberation — and we’re glad to have you be part of it.
