This event is to participate in a cocktail class and WATCH a glassblowing demonstration. If you would like to try glassblowing, you may click to sign up for one of our glassblowing courses.

Join us in the Michigan Room on December 18th for our first ever Glass Academy Holiday Cocktail Class! Attendees will enjoy an evening of holiday revelry, hosted by local cocktail historian Beth Vandergrift. The class will feature two signature cocktails highlighting the traditional flavors and ingredients of the season. Throughout the evening guests will prepare and enjoy two distinct cocktails and light snacks while Beth shares stories and history related to the season and the spirits. Between the cocktail creations, guests will be treated to a live glass-blowing demonstration led by the Glass Academy's talented resident artists.

Guests will end the evening with all the recipes and know-how needed to recreate these festive tipples at home along with a better understanding of the process of glass-making, as well as an opportunity to purchase artisan-made glass pieces as a discount. Take a break from the cold and get cozy in the hot shop!

Additionally, there will be a prize for the "best" Worst Christmas Sweater, as voted by the guests and tabulated by the staff!

As you mix and sip, our glass artists will be shaping molten glass in real time. You’ll feel the heat, hear the tools, and witness the transformation from liquid to solid — adding a layer of energy and artistry that turns your night into more than a class… it becomes a full sensory experience tied directly to what’s in your glass.

Every drink is served in handblown glassware made right here in our studio, turning each pour into part of the art.

🕔 Class begins at 6pm
Please arrive 15 minutes early to check in with the host and enjoy the atmosphere.

RULES & WHAT TO EXPECT

• You must be at least 21 years old to attend, IDs will be checked.
• Dress accordingly as our warehouse is cold in the winter, (we recommend bringing an extra layer), and warm in the spring and summer, (sandels are permitted).
• This cocktail class is designed to run 2 1/2 hours. There will be glass blowing classes happening simultaneously with the cocktail class, so you might get a peek at those before your demo.
• There will be light snacks provided. You are welcome to bring in food if you want something more substantial.
• There is ample free parking on Trowbridge St. in front of our building, as well as overflow parking on S. Gulley road right around the corner.
