Coastal Themed Origami with Mags Gray

Join Deemouth Artist Mags Gray at the Greyhope Bay Centre in this relaxing workshop, where she will guide you through basic paper folding techniques to create colourful origami art.

About the workshop:

This two-hour workshop will be relaxed and fun, slowly following simple verbal and/or diagram instructions to create colourful fish and boats. These can be left as single creations or attached to a driftwood stick/sewn together to create a small wall hanging. Colourful Japanese origami paper will be supplied to make these fun artworks for your home or as a handmade gift.

About the artist:

Mags is a ceramicist based at DAS she has exhibited her work at various Scottish galleries and The Mall Gallery London she also has pieces in several collections. Mags creates her stoneware pieces by hand, also casting work using porcelain and continues to design new collections and explore new techniques. Her work is available at several Scottish galleries and at Deemouth Artist Open Studios events.

Following her visit to Japan some years ago she discovered wabi sabi, the Japanese words for finding beauty in the imperfect and feels this is something that we should all cherish. She has explored shasiko sewing, Ikebana and origami as enjoyable and relaxing pastimes and now wants to share the inexpensive, centuries old, simple paper folding techniques.
