Soon after his death in 1796, Scots around the world began celebrating the life and works of Robert Burns, Scotland ‘s favourite poet, with a dinner held on (or near) January 25, his birthday. For years, the Coastal Scottish Heritage Society has continued that tradition with our Annual Nicht w’ Burns Supper. Guests welcome! Email [email protected]St. Thomas’ Church has proven to be an excellent venue for us. It is easy access, has plenty of free parking, and has plenty of space for our Burns Nicht activities.
The parking lot and entrance to the Parish hall is off Cornus Drive, just past the left turn onto St. Thomas Avenue. In other words, the event will take place on the opposite side of the church grounds from the entrance on St. Thomas Drive. Look for our Coastal Scottish flags and banners.
As is our custom, this is a pot luck supper, so bring your favourite covered dish and/or dessert. Bring enough for you, your family, and a hungry Scot.
BYOB (beer and wine only, please, no hard spirits)
Please feel free to bring your family and friends.
Gentlemen, wear your kilts!
We are looking forward to seeing you all on January 31st!
