About the Roundtable

The University of Alabama Small Business Development Center, the Office of Advocacy, and GovContractPros invite you to participate in a collaborative roundtable discussion focused on the Department of War's initiative to reform the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) program and reduce compliance burdens across the Defense Industrial Base.

This session provides an opportunity for government, industry, and cybersecurity professionals to share practical experiences, discuss challenges, and provide actionable recommendations to inform the newly established CMMC Reform Task Force.

Participants will discuss topics including:

• The effectiveness of specific CMMC and NIST SP 800-171 security controls
• Commercial cybersecurity solutions and opportunities for broader government recognition
• Challenges with Phase I self-assessments and reporting
• Policy recommendations to reduce costs while maintaining strong cybersecurity
• Recommendations to improve operational resilience across the Defense Industrial Base

Attendees are encouraged to come prepared to share their experiences and participate in an open discussion with government and industry partners. The session will also include information on responding to the current Request for Information (RFI) and other opportunities to provide input on CMMC reform.
