Join us for Breaking Barriers, an inspiring and thought-provoking symposium dedicated to mental health awareness and the accessibility of mental health resources in our university community.
Whether you're passionate about mental health advocacy or simply curious to learn more, this event is for you! Let’s break barriers together and build a campus where mental well-being is a priority for all.
1st Session (2PM - 5PM)
- A powerful keynote speaker sharing their lived experience with mental health
- Booths from CMHA and mental health-focused clubs at the University of Alberta
- Networking opportunities with the speaker, and like-minded attendees
- A complimentary food box to enjoy while engaging in meaningful conversations
2nd Session (5PM - 8PM)
- A dynamic panel discussion featuring mental health professionals tackling barriers to accessing mental health resources
- "Pie-a-Prof" fundraiser—because what’s better than supporting CMHA Edmonton while having some fun?
- Networking opportunities with the panellists, and like-minded attendees
- A complimentary food box to enjoy while engaging in meaningful conversations
Event Disclaimer
This Mental Health Symposium will include discussions and personal stories related to mental health. Some content may be emotionally challenging or potentially distressing. Topics may include, but are not limited to:
- Depression and anxiety
- Trauma and PTSD
- Substance abuse
- Self-harm and suicide
- Eating disorders
- Stigma and discrimination
- Family and relationship issues
