CMC Open House: Free Classes for Adults Winter Quarter 2026

Have you ever wanted to learn an instrument but weren’t sure where to start?

Don't miss your chance! Join us for a free Open House at CMC designed especially for adults. Explore a wide variety of instruments and musical styles in a welcoming, no-pressure, but personal environment. From piano, voice, and guitar for beginners to Latin musical traditions, this is the perfect opportunity to try something new before our Winter Quarter begins. Attendees will also get access to exclusive CMC class discounts!

You’ll participate in several mini-classes, each 15–25 minutes long.

Please register in advance. Sign up for each hour-long session that you're interested in:

• Get a feel for the keys, explore basic techniques, and try playing a simple tune with Zahra Rothschild
• Discover the basics of guitar and experience the joy of making music with Sandy Brassard
• Learn techniques to sing in healthy ways as a foundation for enjoyment and continued study and practice in any style

• get hands-on and groove with the iconic Peruvian wooden box drum with Pierr Padilla
• Discover traditional rhythms and unique instruments of the fandango, a community music from Veracruz, Mexico with Maria de la Rosa.

No prior experience is needed, just a curiosity for music and a willingness to have fun.
