Enjoy a day filled with activities in celebration of the last days of summer with a retro back-to-school themed CMA Community Day.
Admission to CMA Community Days is completely free, including general access and entry to the exhibitions. CMA Community Days are made possible through generous support provided by Art Bridges Foundation’s Access for All program.

Activities for the Day
1st Period: Big Doodles
10:00 AM–12:00 PM
Patricia M. Jurgensen Sculpture Garden
Join us for a fun morning of giant doodles! Life size sheets to color on for the whole family while enjoying the sunshine.
10 Minutes on the Dot: English Class
11:00–11:10 AM & 2:00–2:10 PM
Enjoy a close look and a deep dive with a single work of art related to some of our favorite school subjects, led by a CMA docent. Don’t worry – there won’t be a quiz at the end!
2nd Period: Lunch Break
12:00–1:00 PM
Grab a tasty bite or beverage in Schokko Café.
10 Minutes on the Dot: Science Class
12:00–12:10 PM & 3:00–3:10 PM
Enjoy a close look and a deep dive with a single work of art related to some of our favorite school subjects, led by a CMA docent. Don’t worry – there won’t be a quiz at the end!
3rd Period: Recess
1:00–4:00 PM
Make your way throughout the museum for movement, play, and opportunities for connection.

Patricia M. Jurgensen Sculpture Garden
Play outside with music by CitizenDorians from Candy Rain, lawn games, and enjoy a frozen treat from Rime Time Curiously Crafted Pops.

Talmage Community Room
Remember Lisa Frank? Holographics, colorful animals and lots and lots of rainbows. We’re bringing back the queen of Y2K stationery with DIY Lisa Frank inspired journals!

Atrium
Visit our community partner tables to learn more about resources available from the Mid-Ohio Food Collective and Museums for All Columbus.

4th Period: Assembly
2:30–4:00 PM
Lower Level Walter Wing
The afternoon wouldn’t be complete without an end of day assembly performance. Flux n Flow Dance Center will be performing throughout the afternoon inspired by the exhibition Robin F. Williams: We’ve Been Expecting You.
