Refill.

Not the tank. Not the glass. Not yet, anyway.

Club Motte's True Stories is a night where strangers tell true stories to a room of other strangers. No script. No rehearsal. Just seven minutes and whatever's true.

This time, the theme is Refill — and we're leaving that word wide open. It can mean exactly what it says.

The second cup of coffee that turned into a three-hour conversation.

The tank you filled at 2am, halfway through a drive you weren't sure you should be taking.

The prescription that changed everything.

Or it can mean something you can't pour.

The friendship that topped you back up after a year that emptied you out.

The faith you thought was gone for good.

The moment you realized you weren't running on empty anymore — someone had quietly refilled you when you weren't looking.

Some stories tonight might start like:

— The time you ran out — of patience, of money, of belief — and something unexpected filled the gap

— A refill that didn't fix anything, but helped anyway

— The person who kept "topping you up" without ever making it a big deal

— A literal refill that turned into an unexpectedly big night

— Starting over, again, and what it took to do it one more time

Here's how it works.

Stories are true, about 7 minutes long.

Two halves, roughly five stories each, with a break in between.

Nobody signs up in advance to tell. Names go into a draw on the night — nobody, including the storyteller, knows who's up until they're called.

Your story doesn't need to touch "refill" literally. It just needs to be true.

If you're sitting there wondering do I even have a story worth telling — that's not really the bar.

A story here isn't there to inspire anyone or teach a lesson. It's there to make one honest connection in a room of people who came in as strangers.

If even one person is moved by it, it's done exactly what it needed to do.

Come alone if you want. A lot of people do.

Most of them end up staying long after the last story, drink in hand, deep in conversation with someone they didn't know two hours earlier.

Come to listen. Come to put your name in the draw. Either way, you're in the room.
