Bruka’s 32nd season opens with CLUB INFERNO - The Road To Fame Is Hell. Directed by Kell Kittell and written by Kittell & Peter Fogel. Brüka Theatre Presents The Reno Premiere of the Award-Winning Glam-Rock Musical Club Inferno - A Fiery Return to the Hometown of Creator Kelly Kittell the electrifying, award-winning glam-rock musical created by Reno native Kelly Kittell (book & lyrics) with music by Peter Fogel (music & lyrics).
Originally a San Francisco cult sensation, Club Inferno blazes back with a reimagined production that fuses outrageous humor, high-voltage rock anthems, and dazzling theatrical spectacle. Inspired by Dante’s Divine Comedy, Club Inferno follows legendary rock diva Dante, who is struck by a freak accident mid-performance and wakes up in Hell’s hottest nightclub. Club Inferno opens Brüka’s 31st season on Friday, October 10, 2025 followed by an opening night reception in Brüka Studio 44.
Individual tickets for Club Inferno go on sale on September 5, 2025. EXPLICIT THEATRE WARNING!
MORE ABOUT THE SHOW: Guided by the ancient Greek poet, Virgil, Dante journeys through nine circles of an all women underworld, encountering a cavalcade of pop-culture icons—from Cleopatra to Judy Garland—each offering lessons in fame, sin, and self-discovery.
Praised for its bold creativity and theatrical flair, Club Inferno earned nine nominations from the Bay Area Theatre Critics Circle in its original run, winning Best Original Score and Best Original Book (Musical). Critics hailed it as:
> “A riotously fun glam rock musical… bursting at the seams with rock excess and hoary one-liners.” — 48 Hills
“Club Inferno puts the comedy in ‘The Divine Comedy’—Rocky Horror meets The Cramps.” — SFist
“Explosive performances, jaw-dropping costumes, and glam rock energy turned up to 11.” — Talkin’ Broadway
> “Bringing Club Inferno home to Reno is a full-circle moment,” says Kittell. “This show celebrates individuality, resilience, and the outrageous joy of being unapologetically yourself—messages that feel more vital than ever.”
