The art of *clown* is nebulous, loose, slippery and full of nuggets, some are sparkly even!
• what makes a clown theatre artist shine on stage?
• how do they get stability?
• why are we attracted to honesty?
Do you desire to boost your stage presence without being a total annoying wanker? Have you taken clown classes yet still haven't unlocked the code of how to make an act/turn??

*Clown School: Honesty & Character Extensions for the Stage* is a class to help those interested in the art of Clown Theatre gain stability, connect to their truth and their power (both internally and by literally engaging certain physical muscles) while still having fun and offering surprises.
• Negotiating and grappling with stage emotions. When we have the courage to share that negotiation with an audience, it becomes captivating and real. If there's no emotion well then we add something else to make it captivating! Like...
• Vocal and physical explorations help the performer to extend their presence, providing dynamic moments in the act/clown turn.
• Group exercises will include some that I've picked up from other clown teachers such as Jon Davison, the late Gina Bastone, as well as some that I've formed through other classes. Participants can expect to play in improviations with partners, and in trios. Participants are encouraged to build a 5-7 min act to present on the last day, whether solo, duo or trio - or more than one. Priscilla will provide private one on one discussions about the material if it's desired, and students will get the opportunity to present their acts at a cabaret in July or September.
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
Clowning is a great tool for all performers to CONNECT better with the audience by being in and responding to the *Present Moment* rather than their internal plan or script, as well it's extremely helpful to bring uniqueness and "likeability" to performers' stage presence.
Open to all levels, Best for folks with intentions to perform for audience.

Priscilla is an expert in her craft as a performer and as a facilitator has lots of juicy wisdoms to impart to even the most seasoned clowns! ~ Jessica Gabriel
As an actor, Priscilla's workshop helped me get back in tune with my body, my impulses, and having the vulnerability to face my most authentic self in order to transform through performance. She holds students accountable to the work at hand, while also honouring who they are and the place they are working from. Her warm yet down-to-business teaching style, through the principles of clown, are ideal for anybody who wants to experiment and push themselves to the zaniest corners of their being. I also laughed harder in her class than I have in a long time. ~ Julie Murphy
Priscilla is an excellent facilitator and for me that means someone who listens, is kind and focused with their feedback and always encouraging people to go farther into their discomfort zone. ~ RC Weslowski
Kind, present, funny as hell, supportive, really wise. Just a wonderful person to hold space for chaos, pleasure, bizarro gutter clown experiments. Provides clear feedback. ~ Heather McLean
Priscilla is warm and welcoming and will kick you gently into the deep end of the pool so you can learn how to swim. She's great at offering concrete feedback on what works and what doesn’t and is truly rooting for you to succeed. She's fuckin smart and will call you on your bullshit in the best way! ~ Paige Louter

Why study with Priscilla? Isn't she a bit of a loose canon?
While Priscilla *appears* to be a loose canon on stage, she's actually been honing the craft of Clown Theatre for over 20 years now, and made a vow to teach only when she felt she'd gained enough real life stage experience doing all sorts of clown acts for a wide range of shows, and festivals ~ internationally. She's studied clown with multiple teachers spanning the spectrum of the art form from David MacMurray Smith to Philippe Gaulier, is also is an actor, sketch comedian, improvisor and voice artist. Priscilla holds a 5year training in energy healing that also informs the performer's energy resource and body presence. While Priscilla is trauma informed and a survivor herself (no shame!), she aims to include those who are at varying levels of confidence and openess. So while she can come across as a "dark clown" a "bouffon" or "gutterclown", it's because she sees a need for the shadow to be included not only on the main stage but in clown workshops too. Priscilla believes in timing to a T, and whatever is presenting in the moment is the pulse to pounce on!
