The Community Outreach Group is a 501c3 non-profit, caring group of stewards dedicated to being of service to our less fortunate neighbors. Our goal is to share coats, clothing, a hot lunch, and a contagious smile. Our volunteers collect clothing throughout the year and on the first Saturday each and every December we host a Clothing Distribution Party to give it all away. The #CommOutrchGrp is supported by generous businesses, Church groups, Schools, and countless individuals who share their time, talent, and treasure. All remaining clothing and food is shared with agencies who serve those in need. The #ErieCDP was started by COG’s co-founder and a group of men after they had participated together in a Catholic Diocese of Erie Cursillo (kur-SEE-yo) Movement weekend. The Scripture verse Matthew 25:40 remains our inspiration. We’ve been blessed to have our event featured as the cover story in the Diocese of Erie’s Faith Magazine (August 2016) which can be viewed @ https://catholicmagazines.org/magazine-archive/faith-erie/er0716 COG has launched a new partnership with the Mazzini Charitable Foundation, which has acquired as of October 2025 the St. Paul Center in order to cultivate a hub where local nonprofits may provide an array of services to community members in need so that these neighbors may be supported and empowered. We have a tentative agreement with The Mazzini Charitable Foundation to continue to host the event at St. Paul Center @ 453 West 16th Street (next door to St. Paul Catholic Church @ 16th & Walnut) on the #FirstSaturdayEachDecember, with the 2026 date being Saturday, December 5, 2026.
