The Fashion Pulpit -TFP |Circular Fashion Hub| | Singapore, SG
About this Event
Participants will browse items in the Circular Fashion Hub and choose garments or accessories that spark curiosity, surprise or imagination. They may also bring up to 3 small items or references from home, such as a piece of clothing, accessory, sentimental object, drawing, mood board, written prompt, or costume element inspired by a fictional character, anime, film or game.
Through guided prompts and simple drama exercises, participants will explore how clothing can suggest personality, mood, status, history, and desire. They will create an original character, experiment with posture, gesture, voice, and presence, then bring their characters to life through guided prompts and basic improvisation techniques.
The focus is not on acting perfectly, but on having fun, experimenting with clothing, and discovering how fashion can become a tool for play, expression, and storytelling. This workshop is open to participants of all ages and experience levels. Come on your own, bring a friend, or join with your child for a creative bonding experience.
Participants can expect to:
- Use clothing, accessories or personal inspiration items to spark an original character.
- Browse The Fashion Pulpit’s collection and experiment with styling as a form of storytelling.
- Build a character through simple, beginner-friendly drama prompts.
- Explore how costume affects posture, gesture, voice, attitude, and presence.
- Take part in low-pressure improvisation activities with other participants.
No prior theatre, fashion or performance experience is required. Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing suitable for light movement.
