Featuring selections from the Dr. Vernon and Emily “Mimi” Filley Permanent Collection and works on loan from the Loomis Family Private Collection. This exhibit represents a treasured private collection of pieces mostly by current working Hopi, Navajo, Apache, Acoma & Zuni Artists. The collection includes Kachina Dolls; Weavings; Pottery; Basketry and more. Each art form of these Southwestern tribes, holds profound connections to memory and heritage. All the elements of design - the symbols, pigments choices, selections of materials - embody generations of knowledge and spiritual beliefs.
