About this Event

Please note: Booking is Essential

In the 18th century John Harrison revolutionised timepieces enabling huge advances in global navigation, marine safety, mercantile opportunity and trade economics. The City was at the right place at the right time and today marks the 250th anniversary of Harrison's passing in 1776. Lester Hillman charts the dramas including key locations, institutions, quirky place names and unexpected links. Comic timing and popular culture over the centuries further enrich a fascinating story.

In-person: For access to the event, please use the Aldermanbury entrance to Guildhall Library/The London Centre.

Online via YouTube: Event link to be sent to attendees 24 hours prior to the talk.
