Clinical Training Series: Human Trafficking and the LGBTQIA Community
Join us for a specialized training focusing on the intersection of human trafficking and the LGBTQIA community. This in-person training series will provide valuable insights and strategies for healthcare professionals. This training will be facilitated by Yew Belong Community Services director, Dr. Wynn Purvis in collaboration with South University. Dr. Wynn has specialized in trauma and sexuality for over two decades. She established the Sexual Wellness in Counseling Interest Network in the American Counseling Association in 2012 and is the founding member of the Association for Counseling Sexology and Sexual Wellness (ACSSW), a division of the American Counseling Association. Her focus on research, training, and clinicial intervention in sexual wellness highlights the developmental nature of sexuality and emphasizes the need for all clinicians to develop core competencies in sexuality counseling. Her extensive training and clinical experience in trauma counseling highlights the specific impact of trauma in marginalized communities. In this training series, Dr. Wynn will provide an in-depth exploration of various aspects of clinical interventions with marginalized communities when addressing trauma.
