Climate Week NYC: Nourishing the Future
About this Event
On Tuesday, September 22nd, join Food Tank and Diestel Family Ranch for “Nourishing the Future: How Farming Practices Shape the Food We Eat, the Health We Build, and the Longevity We Seek" at WNYC-NPR Studios’ The Greene Space in New York City for an exclusive, invitation-only event as part of Climate Week NYC.
Confirmed speakers and performers include: Heidi Diestel, Fourth-Generation Farmer and Executive Vice President, Diestel Family Ranch; Clair Rachel Howell, Broadway Performer and former Nessarose in Wicked, currently performing on the Wicked National Tour; Anne Marie Hourigan, Quality Standards Principal Advisor for Sourcing Standards, Whole Foods Market; Danielle Nierenberg, President, Food Tank; Noah Turner, Broadway Music Director; and many more to be announced soon!
“Nourishing the Future: How Farming Practices Shape the Food We Eat, the Health We Build, and the Longevity We Seek” explores how the way food is grown, raised, and produced directly shapes its nutritional value and, ultimately, its impact on human health and longevity. Through farmer stories, regenerative and organic production models, emerging nutrient-density research, and clinical perspectives on food as fuel, this afternoon will examine how better farming practices can produce better food — and why the next frontier in food systems may be measuring value not just by cost, yield, or convenience, but by nourishment.
Join us for a live musical performance, a delicious lunch and networking reception, and important conversations.
