CliMATE Vision Boarding | Tableau de vision climatique

About the event: Eco-anxiety, and related feelings of concern for the climate, often originate from deep senses of care and love for our planet. However, what new sensations emerge when we take the time to reflect on the future we desire for the world around us? What do our neighbourhoods and natural settings look like? In this workshop, facilitated by art therapist Lily Jiménez-Dabdoub, we will explore all of this through art making. We'll begin by warming up with watercolor postcard-making, before moving into a vision boarding exercise using collage materials. No experience required... just come ready to explore your relationship with the planet.

About our facilitator: Lily Jiménez Dabdoub (she/her) is a Latina, multi-ethnic art therapist living as a settler on Tio'tia:ke (Montreal), the land in stewardship of the Kanien'kéha:ka Nation. She is dedicated to decolonizing therapy through critical reflection and learning ancestral healing practices. Originally from Mexico City, she combines humanistic and systemic approaches while acknowledging the appropriations taken from Western psychology about Indigenous knowledge. As a racialized immigrant woman, Lily understands the weight of oppression and social injustice firsthand. This fuels her empathy and commitment to social justice, particularly in supporting racialized and neurodivergent individuals. Lily is passionate about addressing historical oppression and engaging in collective healing. As part of the Climate-Informed Counsellors Chapter with the CCPA, she works to promote climate-aware therapeutic practices.

À propos de notre animatrice : Lily Jiménez Dabdoub (elle) est une art-thérapeute latino-américaine multiethnique qui vit en tant que colonisatrice à Tio'tia:ke (Montréal), le territoire géré par la nation Kanien'kéha:ka. Elle se consacre à la décolonisation de la thérapie par la réflexion critique et l'apprentissage des pratiques de guérison ancestrales. Originaire de Mexico, elle combine des approches humanistes et systémiques tout en reconnaissant les appropriations de la psychologie occidentale concernant les connaissances autochtones.

En tant que femme immigrante racialisée, Lily comprend de première main le poids de l'oppression et de l'injustice sociale. Cela alimente son empathie et son engagement envers la justice sociale, en particulier dans le soutien aux personnes racialisées et neurodivergentes. Lily se passionne pour la lutte contre l'oppression historique et la guérison collective. Dans le cadre du chapitre des conseillers sensibilisés au climat de la CCPA, elle s'efforce de promouvoir des pratiques thérapeutiques respectueuses du climat.
