Join us for the next Climate Mingle, hosted at the University of Plymouth Sustainability Hub, for an evening exploring how behaviour change can drive sustainability in one of Plymouth’s most complex and important environments: healthcare.
This informal, free networking event brings together climate-minded people from across Plymouth to connect, share ideas and hear from inspiring local speakers working to create positive change.
Sustainability and Behaviour Change in Healthcare🏥
We’re delighted to welcome Kirsty Wavish, Sustainability Manager at University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust.
Kirsty will share insights into the Trust’s sustainability journey, focusing on the challenges and opportunities of encouraging behaviour change within a large clinical environment.
Find out how staff across the Trust are helping to reduce environmental impacts through initiatives such as:
♻️ Reducing single-use plastics
🚲 Developing a sustainable travel policy
⚡ Working towards ending the purchase and lease of new internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles
🔋 Replacing single-use batteries with rechargeable alternatives in Audiology
🏆 Engaging staff through the Green Impact Scheme, where 29 teams have participated and 15 have achieved awards
Kirsty will also explore how sustainability messages can be communicated effectively to patients and healthcare professionals, and welcomes ideas and discussion from attendees.

🌱 Learn how behaviour change can support large-scale environmental improvements
💡 Hear about practical projects already making a difference across clinical settings
