Eastbourne Climate Coalition is affiliated to the national Climate Justice Coalition. So what is Climate Justice? This Climate Justice Hub, held at the Gather in the Beacon, will explain. How are workers' rights and trade unionism linked to the climate crisis? What is a Just Transition? To what extent is global marketisation and corporate finance responsible for climate chaos? Is the crisis in the NHS linked to the climate crisis? What is the Divestment Movement about? Why does it matter where we bank, where our pension funds are invested, which companies we shop with? What does reparations for the global south mean? Is racism a climate issue? How does War fit in? How does Colonialism fit in?There will be a whole heap of information from many of the local social justice and climate justice groups. Some of these groups people typically don't associate with the climate crisis e.g. Eastbourne Stand Up to Racism and Eastbourne Trade Union Council. There will also be a full programme of short videos followed by discussion where we will learn about and explore some of the above.
Hopefully, also, Extinction Rebellion Eastbourne will be doing block printing of Climate Justice slogans.
