About this Event
The office of MP Terry Beech is hosting a Climate Action Panel and Event on Friday June 30th at Simon Fraser University (Room location will be sent to those who RSVP). Our event aims to bring together different levels of government and the local community to discuss local and national environmental challenges and concerns faced by the community.
It will be an opportunity for your insights/questions/perspectives/concerns to be heard during the Q&A portion of our panel event. Following the panel event, there will be an opportunity to showcase the sustainability work you/your organization are/is already doing.
Schedule:
Check-in begins at 1:30pm
2:00 pm - 3:15 pm: Panel discussion with municipal, provincial, Indigenous and federal elected leaders. Elected officials will be speaking about what climate action they are doing and their priorities.
Confirmed panelists include:
- Jonathan Wilkinson, Minister of Natural Resources
- Terry Beech, Member of Parliament for Burnaby North-Seymour & Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Finance
- Mike Little, District of North Vancouver Mayor
3:30 pm - 4:30 pm: A mingling session where local organizations can host a table to talk about their climate action efforts. It will also be a chance to collaborate with other community organizations and for local leaders to see what different groups are doing.
