Friends of Wilderness Park and UNL Outdoor Adventures are partnering up for a trash pick up day in Wilderness Park featuring a creek clean up using canoes!
We'll have an initial group meeting and plan for the day at the Old Cheney Parking Lot then divide into groups responsible for different park sections for the clean-up. We'll have shuttles to move you between Old Cheney and your clean up area. At the end of the event there will be a group celebration at Epworth Park entrance with Smores and Hot Dogs.
Date: October 12th
Time: 1:00 pm CT
Where: Initial meeting at the Old Cheney Parking Lot of WP
Land Clean-Up Site: Select trails between Old Cheney and the Epworth arches.
Creek Clean-Up Site: Salt Creek from Old Cheney to Epworth Arches, and select trails in the area. (limited volunteer spots available)
Post Clean-Up Celebration: Will be held at the Epworth parking lot after the clean-up. Hot Dogs and Smores will be provided.
