Clean It, Build It, Restore It: Three Approaches to Coastal Recovery
About this Event
Join the Port of San Francisco as we launch the Restore America’s Estuaries Conference’s Blue Economy Track with an energizing evening of ideas, discovery, and connection.
This free, open‑to‑the‑public event (with registration) brings together three companies working on different pieces of the same problem: a healthier seabed.
Hear from:
- OceanFront, which clears marine debris from the seabed without divers,
- afterNATURE, which designs precast habitat units that turn seawalls, rip-rap, and other "grey" infrastructure into living marine habitat, and
- MARBLIS by Primitives, who is producing architectural surfaces like countertops & wall tiles from purple sea urchins, to restore kelp forests.
These leaders will share breakthrough solutions, real‑world deployments, and the urgent “why” behind their work. A moderated discussion will follow, exploring challenges, partnerships, regulatory pathways, and the roles that ports, designers, and regulators play in advancing ocean‑positive efforts. Cap it off with a reception and opportunity to connect with fellow changemakers across the blue economy. Get ready for an inspiring start to the week—and a firsthand look at the future unfolding along our shores.
