About this Event

Description: To explore the basic science behind our clothes, participants will tie-dye cotton fabric and experiment with different types of soaps, detergents, and cleansers. Along the way, we'll explore how clothing sheds microfibers during laundry. Join this hands-on workshop hosted by New York Sea Grant to learn how to wash our clothes while protecting the environment.

Presenters: Catherine Prunella, New York Sea Grant; Dr. Julian Silverman, Fashion Institute of Technology; and Rachel Greene, Fashion Institute of Technology

Audience: Ages 12+, anyone who wants to learn to launder.
