Clay Extruded Handbuilt Tea Pot and Vases - 4 Week Series
About this Event
The ultimate adult play dough class! Channel that inner child pressing dough fries... and that's what a clay extruder is - a machine that forces wedged clay through rigid dies to create uniform shapes, hollow tubes and specialized handles.
Combining many handbuilding techniques, students will explore slab, molding and carving while the Clay Extruder does the hard work by creating hollow vase forms. Adding bases, lids, spouts will turn these shapes into whimsical tea pots. Students will make 1 Tea Pot and 1 Vase/Pitcher
Class 1: Extruding forms. slabbing out bases and lids
Class 2: Attaching bases, molding, lids, handles and spouts
Class 3: Attaching spouts, handles, Carving & Decorating
Class 4: Glazing
Dates & Times: Wednesdays, 7/22, 7/29, 8/5 & 8/12
