Clay & Rituals

A handbuilding workshop for those who want to slow down and make something that holds what matters. Join me at the studio for a session of reflection, design, and creation in clay.

What to expect:

1. Welcome & The Space: Workshop participants ease into the day with creative prompts and a welcome circle to get grounded and set the tone. Explanation of the workshop.
2. Ritual in Conversation: Why ritual matters and what it signals to our nervous system. Talking about the rituals of creative people, and why to choose clay. With guided questions, personal and group exercise to reflect on your own day, habits and rituals.
3. Vessel Design: Bridging from ritual to vessel. What object would serve it? Designing the vessel with guidance, thinking with a sketch, writing, or any other chosen method.
4. Hand in Clay -The Making: Demonstration of hand building techniques. We touch the clay and start making. Questions are welcome, hands on help and guidance. Decorating and finishing the piece, fine tuning.
