Clay & Cocktails - Pottery Hand building ft Swan River Distillery

Our talented potter will spend the evening teaching you the art of hand-building in this fun Thursday night workshop. Clay in one hand, a limoncello spritz in the other, this is a Thursday night not to be missed.

In this pottery workshop, you’ll use your hands to sculpt and create some beautiful ceramic mugs and vases, focusing on the free-form and organic qualities that hand-building can offer. Our hobby expert will show you techniques to create vases, bowls & mugs and then you can spend the next few hours creating whatever your heart desires.

This workshop is perfect for date night, catch-ups, or a fun Thursday night with friends. All skill levels are welcome!

Clay is a fun hobby, that is perfect for those wanting to try something different.

BONUS: Our friends over at Swan River Distillery will be serving up a Limoncello Spritz on arrival! The perfect summer cocktail!

What this workshop includes:

- All equipment and tools required including clay

- Firing and glazing for 2 pieces

- Instructions & guidance from one of Perth’s best Ceramicists

- A spritz on arrival & wine throughout the session

- A grazing board to enjoy during the session

- Loose leaf teas, coffee, juice and other non-alcoholic options available

What to bring:

Clay is wonderfully messy! It does wash out of clothes, but if you are super messy we'd recommend an apron. We have some at the venue if you forget.

Important info about this workshop:

Following the workshop, your pieces will be bisque fired, clear glazed, and glaze fired before being returned for you to collect and treasure within 6-8 weeks.

If you create more than 2 x items, you can pay a kiln & glazing fee per item to turn other creations into usable ceramic vessels. Pricing depends on the size of your creation.

Pottery can be challenging, sometimes on the first go, you might not create something you love. We will do our best to help coach you along the way. Ceramics can sometimes be unpredictable. Due to this, there are limitations on the size of your items, sadly pieces break during the firing process and we want to ensure you have a beautiful and functional piece. Trust us, we have had to learn from heartbreak!

Don't worry though our expert will cover all of this at the start of your workshop.
