About this Event
About This Event:
Make something you'll actually love drinking from.
Looking for a fun, creative night out in New York City? Ditch the standard bar routine and join us for Clay & Cheers, a beginner-friendly hand-building ceramics workshop where you create a fully functional, personalized stoneware pint cup from raw clay.
No pottery wheel. No experience required. No pressure.
Hosted inside the bright, inspiring setting of On the Easel Studios in Long Island City, our experienced ceramic instructors guide you step-by-step through shaping, forming, handle building, and surface detailing using stamps, rustic textures, or your own initials.
What You’ll Make & Learn:
- Your Own Functional Vessel: Hand-build 01 custom stoneware pint cup or drinking tumbler.
- Core Hand-Building Fundamentals: Learn slab-building, pinch techniques, surface smoothing, and proper handle attachment.
- Custom Textures & Personalization: Use artisan carving tools, stamps, botanical imprints, or monograms to make your cup one-of-a-kind.
- Food-Safe Studio Finish: After the session, our team handles drying, bisque firing, food-safe glaze application, and final high-temperature kiln firing.
