Renée Dahn and Erik Johnson-Scherger have been performing together for over a decade, sharing a deep musical rapport shaped by years of chamber music collaboration, ensemble experience, and diverse stylistic training.

Renée, raised on Prince Edward Island and trained at Wilfrid Laurier University, is known for her lyrical playing and her dedication to music education. She performs widely and maintains a vibrant studio teaching violin and viola.

Erik’s musical path spans classical chamber repertoire, jazz, tango, and folk traditions. With advanced studies at the University of Ottawa and extensive ensemble performance experience, he brings versatility and creative sensitivity to the duo’s sound.

Together, they form Phosphor String Duo, a partnership marked by refined musicianship, expressive nuance, and an inviting stage presence that resonates with audiences of all ages and backgrounds.
