The concert will feature two world premieres and two wonderful guest artists!
Kriegeskotte’s Wind is Causing the Stars to Sway was commissioned by and will be premiered by the Las Cruces Symphony Orchestra. Inspired by an apocryphal story about a UFO encounter in medieval Japan, Wind is Causing the Stars to Sway is a sweeping, musical interpretation of the circumstances surrounding this tale; from an internet footnote on a defunct ufology website to a possibly authentic diary entry written by a 14th century Shogun.
Dalager’s 3futures for Trumpet and Orchestra is a three movement concerto depicting three climate crisis scenarios. Dalager is our very own principal trumpet and is the featured soloist for the orchestral premiere of this concerto!
Pinkham’s No Where and No-When is a reflection on Fermi’s Paradox, the apparent contradiction between the high probability and the lack of evidence of intelligent extra-terrestrial life. Pinkham is our featured soloist for this piece and we cannot wait for you to hear this wonderful concert!
